Driving Orneveien (Eagle Road)
Orneveien means "Eagle Road" or "Eagle Way" in Norwegian, this is the name of a famous high mountain road descending into one of Norway's most spectacular fjords, the Geirangerfjord.

The Flydalsjuvet Lookout Point offers beautiful views over the Geirangerfjord, another UNESCO World Heritage site. There is also an elusive rock, known as the Flydalsjuvet Rock, which overhangs a cliff, offering impressive views.

Standing On Flydalsjuvet Rock
The Flydalsjuvet Lookout Point offers beautiful views over the Geirangerfjord, another UNESCO World Heritage site. There is also an elusive rock, known as the Flydalsjuvet Rock, which overhangs a cliff, offering impressive views.
This rock is difficult to find, and due to safety reasons, the Tourist Information Center is not allowed to tell you exactly how to get there. I personally searched online how to get there, jump the safety fences and stand on the rock.
The view is amazing.

Cruiseship In The Geiranger Fjord
Few miles after passing the Geiranger village at the bottom of the fjord there are several places up in the Akerneset mountain with amazing views of the fjord. The Geirangerfjord is one of the most spectacular sights in Norway, no wonder so many cruise lines have included this place in their itineraries. The cruise I was traveling stopped in Alesund so I drove almost two hours to take a closer look at this famous landscape which is also UNESCO World Heritage.
The Geiranger small tourist town was used as the filming location for The Wave movie (2015).

Eidsdal To Linge Ferry
I drove several hours from the Alesund cruise terminal to the Geiranger fjord (one of the most beautiful fjords in Norway) and this ferry was the only way to cross the fjord between Eidsdal and Linge.
