La Tour CN Tower
The CN Tower is a 553.3 m-high concrete communications and observation tower located in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Built on the former Railway Lands, it was completed in 1976. Its name "CN" originally referred to Canadian National, the railway company that built the tower.
This is my second time in Toronto, and as always this landmark is a must to visit. Except for this time, the lines to go up to the observation deck were one hour long, but once you are at the top you'll enjoy the 360 unobstructed views of the city.

Lotte World Tower And Seokchon Lake Park
Lotte World Tower is one of Korea's architectural crown jewels. The tower symbolizes the meeting of the modern with the traditional, nature and cutting edge technology, and the accomplishments of man. Lotte World Tower contains everything that is necessary for modern urban living.
It was spring in South Korea, so the weather was amazing to walk around Seokchon Lake and enjoy the amazing views of the tallest building in the country the Lotte World Tower. Seokchon Lake is one of the most famous places in South Korea to experience the cherry blossom season because whole lake is surrounded by cherry trees. It was late March, but the trees were not in full bloom yet.

The Royal Meydan Bridge
Every year, VIPs and members of the Royal Emirates family attend the Dubai World Cup at the Meydan Race Course, and only they have access the race course by crossing this spectacular bridge.
In order to elevate the prominence of this route and to create an architectural landmark in the city, it was decided that the bridge should be illuminated. The project required a maintenance-free linear solution that would emit blue light and that could be easily integrated into the architecture and blend seamlessly with the undulations of the bridge.
The illuminated bridge creates a spectacular display of blue ribbons against the night sky, so I went there at night to capture some photos of this stunning landmark.

Passage To The Future - Peace Bridge
With a futuristic design the Peace Bridge in Calgary is another masterpiece of the architect Santiago Calatrava. I've had the oportunity of personally seeing several of his amazing designs around the world, like the Turning Torso in Malmo, the Gare do Oriente train station in Lisbon, the Women Bridge in Buenos Aires, the Milwaukee Art Museum in Wisconsin and the Infinity Tower in Dubai, and everytime I'm amazed seeing how his surreal creations seems to defy the law of physics.
This bridge is a pedestrian bridge that accommodates both pedestrians and cyclists crossing the Bow River, and it's definitely a nice looking attraction for people visiting Calgary.

George C. King Bridge
The George C. King Bridge (also known as the Skipping Stone Bridge) is a pedestrian bridge that spans the Bow River just northeast of Downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The bridge connects the neighbourhoods of East Village to the south and Bridgeland to the north, with access from the bridge to St. Patrick's Island Park in the middle of the river.

Lisbon Oriente Train Station
One of the most stunning modern sights in Lisbon is Oriente Station. It was built by master architect Santiago Calatrava with a roof of glass and steel made to look like a row of trees.
The station was constructed as part of the Expo 98 building program and is styled in an ultra modern reflection of gothic architecture, meaning that most visitors are taken aback when they first view the station. It encompasses a Lisbon Metro station, a high-speed, commuter and regional train hub, a local, national and international bus station, a shopping centre and a police station.
I've had the opportunity to see Calatrava's architecture work in several parts of the world, the Turning Torso Building in Malmo, Women's Bridge in Buenos Aires, Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin and the Reiman Bridge in Wisconsin. Very impressive indeed!

Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly Building
Last week I returned from my first trip to Asia where I visited two impressive cities Tokyo and Singapore. I will be posting more pictures of this trip along with the stories behind them, but I got to tell you right now that I was amazed at how polite (kind) and orderly Japanese people are. The world would be a better place if we all learn from them.
Well, architectural wonders are all around in Tokyo, but I'm going to start posting this beautiful structure located in a public square by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings in the Shinjuku downtown area. I was staying in a Hilton near this place so I walked this area many times.

St Stephen’s Cathedral Ceiling Design
After a long day walking the city of Vienna, we made a stop to visit one of the most important religious building, the St. Stephen's Cathedral, the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese, the place was really crowded however I was able to capture several interior photos. I wanted to use a tripod to perfectly frame the ceiling but it was impossible due to many people walking around so I took this shot hand-held.

Atomium Building
The Atomium is an iconic building in Brussels that stands 102 m (335 ft) tall. Its nine 59 ft diameter stainless steel clad spheres are connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.
The tubes connecting the spheres enclose escalators and a lift to allow access to the five habitable spheres which contain exhibit halls and other public spaces. The top sphere provides a panoramic view of Brussels.

St. Anne Church
This simple aisleless church, built at the start of the 17th century, surprises with its abundant Baroque interior. You can admire the marble rood screen, the oak panelling with built-in confessionals, and paintings by Jan Garemijn.
