Cathedral Cove - A Magical Place Worth Visiting!
The Cathedral Cove is definitely one of those places that people have to visit once in a lifetime.
I always thought about watching the sunrise in this secluded beach, but it wasn't possible that time, the drive from Auckland to the visitor parking area near the beach was around 3 hours, I remember I woke up so early that day around 3:30am but still the drive during the night in a country I was visiting for first time was kind of a challenge. After arriving to the parking area, you will be walking another half an hour to get to the beach and the cave.
After all that effort, I must admit that it was so worth it that I will definitely do it again. I've never had been in a place like that, a magical place. In winter time the beach is empty, so I enjoyed the site all to myself.
The cave and beach were part in the movie "The Chronicles of Narnia", also was used as one of the locations in the music video for the song "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
Cathedral Cove
I drove several hours from Auckland and I walked a long path to this secluded beach carrying my heavy camera backpack and the Phantom 4 drone, but every time I watch this video I really don't remember all that effort, instead I remember the stunning views of the Coromandel coast with the dramatic cliffs and iconic rock archway of Cathedral Cove.
